jamjamkiley Just saw them at RippleFest in Austin. Great live band!

Really like this Demo album- sounds great on vinyl. Slightly different sound to the vocals, which I liked quite a bit. Music fantastic. Favorite track: Pocket Full Of Knife.

Stephan Powerful, heavy, blues-heavy soundscapes, enriched with stoner elements. As long as there are bands like KING BUFFALO there is no need to worry about the future of psychedelic rock!! Favorite track: Providence Eye.

David Yvinec Great sound quality for a demo! Heavy psych rock with some prog rock elements. Providence Eye is alternatively ethereal, dreamy and groovy. A galactic odyssey! Favorite track: Providence Eye.

It’s a hundred miles of feet on road It’s two counties over Where my darlin girl, do call home Livin ain’t easy and walkin ain’t hard Just stick them soles to the road Find ourselves a place all our own Walk on forever, this road I’ve travelled and roamed Walk on forever, make that dear child all my own Got a pocket and a knife and a sweet little wife Scars on our backs no shoes on our feet This is home This knife is my best friend It gleams it shines and it takes it’s time When your daddy comes this way We’ll bind his hands and I will take your heart for my own

In Dim Light 06:08
This burning love, this burning hand My own beliefs will shatter upon this burdened plan Great ray of light White shuttered light I will be a brute and shove my hands upon this bedroom wall Your beautiful face, adjusted to dim light Taut skin turns to wrinkles, an ancient and sad old thing I’ll take you from this room I’ll take you to a mirror Try as you can you can’t remove the face of this crone All the hell you crave Devil I have been It takes hours For this face to fade

I am the rising sun in the sky I am the waking providence eye I am the cut of the demons teeth Reach out your hands and give your soul to me Oh, I’m gonna keep you down Oh, I’m gonna hold you down Oh, the juggernaut to come I am the holy hand of the western sun Purse your lips and kiss my golden feet Give me your love and feed your sons to me Open up your veins and let me feel your blood I will watch you yearn as I look down from above Oh, I’m gonna keep you down Oh, I’m gonna hold you down Oh, the juggernaut to come I am the bastard hand of the fortunate son Oh, I’m gonna bring you down Oh, I’m gonna hold you down Oh, the juggernaut to come I am the red right hand of the western sun I am the prosperous one I’m the abominable sun I am the ominous sky I am the providence eye

“For a demo recorded over the course of two days in their practice space, King Buffalo have some finely recorded tunes that put even some professionally recorded material to shame. The sound is heavy psych rock with a blend of 70′s hard rock and plenty of fuzz. Bands such as The Black Angels and Dead Meadow appear to be influences… You’re going to love what you hear.” – Bill Goodman from The Evil Engineer www.theevilengineer.com?p=494

“Holy crap; give King Buffalo a listen and be mesmerized by the Neil Young qualities that are alive in the psychedelic stoner blues that is brought to you by four Rochester, NY freaks. Especially on the first track Pocket Full Of Knife you dream away and feel completely at home on the range. And then on the second Mr. Young implores some Wovenhand and gets even more mysterious.” – Stoner Hive (Netherlands) stonerhive.blogspot.nl/2014/02/stoner-hives-quick-fire-friday_14.html

“It may only be a demo, but King Buffalo smack with a real and tangible promise. Every element of it’s 22 minute run time ebbs and flows with exceptional grace and execution. From its amalgamation of stoner rock and folk to its eerie melancholy that manages to simultaneously ooze buckets of psychedelica. I’ve lost count of just how many times I’ve played this demo from start to finish but the more I listen the more I hear elements of The Doors. Keep a close eye on this lot, I think they may just have what it takes…” – Jay from Ride With The Devil (United Kingdom) ridewiththedevil.blogspot.ru/2014/01/sombre-beasts.html

“The … Demo … took only two days, and probably this is due to the fact organic aura of compositions and spontaneity, gushing through the psychedelic heavy texture. The guitars weave airy melodies with neo-psychedelic color and knit riffs crammed into a faint fuzz stoner patterns, which is embellished with touches of the blues pithy bass, but with generous amounts of groove having an almost imperceptible psych flavor, drums. T Their Demo is amazing and highly addictive.” – Phantasmagoria (Greece) phantasmagoriagr.blogspot.gr/2013/12/king-buffalo-demo.html

“Spaced-out rivers of fuzz, floated along with a kind of ethereal vibe, something only amplified by the slow and echoed vocals. Eerie and sinuating, with a rock-steady rhythm section providing the foundation for the band to stuff in plenty of psychedelic elements. All in all this is a righteous collection of tracks, especially for a first demo. Even the sound quality is quite good, with all of the songs having a fuzzy feel that lends quite while to the music.” – Church Of The Riff churchoftheriff.wordpress.com/2013/12/10/psych-throwback-king-buffalo-demo/

“Rochester’s King Buffalo takes us on a bluesy stoner-psych trip with their first self-produced demo. Reminiscent to the likes of Fatso Jetson, The Kings of Frog Island and Mars Red Sky, the band’s dreamy immersive sound will be stuck in your head for days to come. Recorded in only 2 days, this sure is an impressive first effort. Better keep a close eye on King Buffalo, these guys have some great future potential!” – Robin from Stonerobixxx (Belgium) www.stonerobixxx.net/blog/king-buffalo-demo

“King Buffalo … languid, naturalistic grooves that pervade their aptly-titled debut …and for having been recorded over the course of two days at the band’s practice space comes through clear and naturally, the airy guitars leading the charge of an organic vibe that recalls some of the heavy psych… with, a light rural touch and Neil Young influence in the vocals... exciting even on multiple listens. ” – H.p. Taskmaster from The Obelisk theobelisk.net/obelisk/2013/12/05/king-buffalo-demo-otr/

"The music is very beautiful, laid-back and meditative hypnotic while grooving as hell. There is also a feature of progressive folk and even slightly tribal features hidden in the details that I like and also the beautifully blending between fuzzed out riffs and brittle sounding clean guitars. I get associations to a raw, heavy and somewhat spaced out Neil Young at times and sometimes a hint of The Doors , but in a more modern twist.” – Spader Ess Review (Sweden) spaderess.blogspot.se/2013/11/recension-king-buffalo-demo.html
